How We're Helping

Abuse Prevention Education for Children

KCAN's exclusive Kids Are Special program uses music, puppets, and interaction to teach children ages 3-7 about an appropriate response to inappropriate touch. We have contacted local schools and will be working with the Elementary School Social Work Departments. This will allow us to educate more children than every before on this important subject. To make this happen, each Kids Are Special educator needs their own tool kit. Each tool kit contains: music, puppets, and materials needed to teach the Kids Are Special program.

Donate a Kit

For every $100 dollar donation you will be providing a tool kit for the Kids Are Special Educators. Thank you for your contributions and assistance in helping us teach kids to keep themselves safe.

How You Can Help

Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and protect local kids. Your generous donation will fund our mission.

Abuse Prevention Education for Professionals

The State of Michigan requires teachers, clergy, medical professionals, and others to report signs of child abuse and neglect. In order to uphold the law, those who work with children need to know the signs of child abuse and neglect and the procedures for reporting it. KCAN's mandated reporter session helps them do just that.

Support for Families

KCAN's Family Help Book helps families identify resources for support in times of need. These books are distributed free of charge to individuals upon request, bulk pricing is available to social service agencies. Available in English and Spanish.
